NEWPORT KNIGHTS LACROSSE CLUB

We are excited for our lacrosse schedule this spring.  We will be fielding teams for the 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, High School levels!  We are looking to grow our club even more and be able to field teams at all levels next year.  Please tell your friends, neighbors, and classmates about the great sport of lacrosse, and invite them to join us this spring!

Youth K-2 Details

Our Kindergarten through second grade (K-2) program focuses on fundamental skills and fun for student athletes!

• Practices: 2x per week. Final dates/time will be announced end of January 2025 due to BSD’s confirmation of field availability. Refer to the TeamLinkt registration page for the past season’s schedule.
• Greater Eastside Lacrosse League (GELL) Games: Saturday
• Dates: Late February 2025 to May 2025

  • The first practice date for K-2 is on 2/28 (Sat) 9:30-10:30 at Newport Heights Elementary.

Youth 3/4 Details

Our 3/4 program focuses on fundamental skills and the introduction of team offense and team defense. At this level, games are played on reduced field size with fewer players on the field. This increases focus on player skill development and provides more opportunities to score goals and make saves!

Youth 5/6 Details

Our 5/6 program focuses on fundamentals and the development of multiple team offense and defense concepts. At this level, we step up to full-size fields and full-sided 10 vs 10 player games.

Youth 7/8 Details

Our 7/8 program becomes more competitive while still developing fundamentals and multiple team concepts. Players will be divided evenly between teams based on skills evaluation during the initial practices.

High School Details

Newport Lacrosse is a 4A WHSBLA program providing Varsity and JV opportunities for 9th – 12th grade boys. This year our high school teams will play in the KingCo 4A Conference of the WHSBLA (Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association).

• Registration for the Spring season: Link

• The first official practice is March 2nd (Captains run practices start on January 5th). The practice will be Monday thru Friday 7:00 – 9:00pm, with a few Saturday morning practices early in the season. A complete schedule will be issued once games have been scheduled.
• Games will start in March and will go through June as determined by WHSBLA Playoffs.
• As a NHS Student Athlete, you must also register for Lacrosse on Final Forms. Once Final Forms registration has open, you will receive an email with the registration information. Please note that our Base Cost does not include the ASB fee upon registering for Final Forms. You will pay your ASB fee through the school, not through NLax. 

USA Lacrosse Membership: You need to have an active USA Lacrosse membership to participate in the program (annual fee $35). This membership covers the insurance to play the sport (insurance policy protects participants, bystanders, and property from injury). You can obtain the membership from this LINK.
