2021 3X Thursdays

FREE 3X Thursdays
Open to K-12
Alums & parents also invited

Come and try it - see if you like it.

Coach Rainville has set up weekly 3X on Thursday evenings this summer at the Newport High School Stadium.  This is a free event and open to all ages, however we do require all participants to have an active USA Lacrosse membership. (USA Lacrosse provides liability insurance to the club, and all participants must be registered and have an active USA Lacrosse membership.  It's a nominal fee, and the membership is good for a year - which will carry you through the 2022 Spring Lacrosse Season.)

3X lacrosse (pronounced "three-by") is a 3-on-3 lacrosse game that you can play virtually anywhere.  All you need is 5 friends with lacrosse sticks, a tennis ball, and a goal.  The "fastest game in two hands" - 3X is the ultimate lacrosse pick-up game for all ages.  This is a non-contact game, so no gloves, helmets, or pads are needed.  We use tennis balls.  This is a great way to try lacrosse without needing all the equipment.  Players will develop their stick skills and game IQ, all while have a blast.

Lacrosse is a great sport, and a great way to make friendships that will last a lifetime.  Our coaches, parents, and volunteers are committed to developing each player’s character, while teaching leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, physical and mental endurance.

Nothing to do this summer on Thursday nights?

Looking to try a new sport - the fastest game on two feet?

Want to get out of the house and get some exercise, and make some new friends?

Want to work on your stick skills and get an edge for Fall Ball?

COME TRY 3X LACROSSE!

There are no fees, and no commitments. Once you register, you are welcome to come to every Free 3X Thursday, or only what suits your schedule.

2021 Spring Season | High School

Newport      Lacrosse

Newport Lacrosse is a 4A WHSBLA program providing Varsity and JV opportunities for 9th - 12th grade boys.

This year our high school teams will play in Division 2 within the KingCo Conference.

Practice schedules are to be determined, but will potentially begin in April, typically in the evening.  Captain's practices may be arranged in March depending on field availability.

Games are currently planned to start on April 26 and will go through June as determined by WHSBLA.  The schedule is still somewhat fluid as WHSBLA has to be responsive to the COVID pandemic guidelines as well as account for the WIAA HS sports schedules.

* Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our HS season will be compressed.  Because of this, and due to our Division 2 status, NHS will not be eligible to compete in the State Playoffs.

Registration will be billed in 3 payments.  A depost ($350) will be collected at the time of registration.  A second installment ($250) will automatically be billed in late March.  The final balance ($220) will be automatically billed once season games begin.  Refunds will not be possible this year as expenses will be incurred with each milestone.

Base Cost: $820.00

Opened: 12/07/2020
Closes: 06/30/2021

Open to: Boys

In Grades: 9 to 12 for 2020-21 School year

2021 Spring Season | Grades 7 and 8

Newport      Lacrosse

Our 7/8 program becomes more competitive and fields A and B skill level teams (given adequate enrollment).

Depending on 7/8 registrations there may be players who swing between both teams, or only one team.

7/8 teams practice 2-3x per week and play games on Saturdays through the Greater Eastside Lacrosse League.

Practices begin in mid-late January and are typically held in the late afternoon and  early evening. Games will begin in mid-April!

This year, we are going to bill registration automatically in installments.  The first installment ($275) will be collected at the time of registration.  The second installment ($150) will be collected with the start of practices.  The balance ($150) will be collected once games begin.  We are doing this in an effort to collect monies as they are needed to pay for expenses (such as field rental, league registration, coaches salaries, etc).  Because of this, we will not be offering any refunds should the season be canceled.

Base Cost: $575.00

Opened: 12/07/2020
Closes: 09/22/2021

Open to: Boys

In Grades: 7 to 8 for 2020-21 School year

2021 Spring Season | Grades 5 and 6

Newport      Lacrosse

Our 5/6 program is developmental and focus remains on fundamentals and the development of multiple team concepts.

At this level, we step up to full-size fields and full-sided 10 vs 10 play.

Depending on registrations, teams may be divided  based on skills evaluation during the initial practices.  If enrollment is low, we will have only one team at the 5-6 level.

Teams practice together 2x per week with games on Saturdays through Greater Eastside Lacrosse League.

Practices begin in mid January and are typically held in the early evening. Games will begin in mid-April!

2021 Spring Season | Grades 3 and 4

Newport      Lacrosse

Our 3/4 program is developmental with a focus on fundamental skills and the introduction of team offense and team defense.

At this level, games are played “small-sided” (fewer players on the field, reduced field size). This increases focus on player skill development and provides more opportunities to score goals and make saves!

Depending on registrations, teams may be divided based on skills evaluation during the initial practices.

Teams practice together 2x per week with games on Saturdays through Greater Eastside Lacrosse League.

Games will begin in mid-April.
